Support Local Recovery at the Soup & Chili Cookoff on February 28th, 2026

Sauk County, Wis. — A fun and delicious event will bring the community together for a great cause on Saturday, February 28th from 11am to 1pm at the Reedsburg VFW. Project WisHope is hosting a Soup and Chili Cookoff in support of the Support People and Empower Recovery (SUPER) community coalition. WisHope is a nonprofit that supports individuals on their recovery journey from substance use. SUPER, a local coalition facilitated by Public Health Sauk County, works to build a more supportive community for those in recovery from substance use. Together, they are working to make a meaningful impact in the community.

Attendees at the event will taste and vote for their favorite soup and chili, generously donated by local businesses, including:

  • J’s Pub & Grill
  • Lake City Social Grill & Bar
  • Log Cabin Family Restaurant and Bakery
  • Moosejaw Pizza & Dells Brewing Co.
  • Monk’s Bar and Grill
  • Mike’s Italian Restaurant

Lunch will be served from 11am – 12:30pm, followed by a 50/50 raffle and free bingo games from 12:30pm – 1pm with prizes for the winners. There will also be a silent auction with items donated by local businesses, including:

  • Styles by Nichole
  • StudioBe, LLC
  • Webb Avenue Nutrition
  • Swim Reedsburg
  • Checkered Flag Embroidery
  • Susie’s Petpourri & Pet Supplies
  • Fay’s Spa Remedy
  • Buck Wild Kitchen & Coffee
  • Cordelia’s Sweet Shoppe

This is a family friendly event, and everyone is welcome: community members, those in recovery and their allies. There is a suggested donation of $5 with no one turned away. All proceeds to benefit the SUPER coalition.

Peter Brunzelle, Executive Director of WisHope, states, “Every dollar raised at this event helps provide resources, support, and hope to people in recovery.”

“Recovery is about connection, and this event is a perfect way to bring people together,” states Hannah Erdman, SUPER coalition facilitator and Health Educator for Public Health Sauk County. “Every person that shows up is helping to create a stronger, more supportive community for all of us.”
