Baraboo Sauk County Campus Redevelopment Plan

The City of Baraboo and Sauk County are partners in the ownership and redevelopment of the Baraboo Sauk County Campus. This plan will serve as a strategic guide for future development initiatives and may include considerations such as higher education expansion, economic development, business growth, housing, or other uses that maximize the property's potential. It will function both as a physical development blueprint and a policy framework, providing guidance for decisions made by elected officials, appointed boards, staff, residents and other stakeholders involved in shaping the future of the campus property. Insite Consulting Architects (ICA) and Kendig Keast Collaborative (KKC) with experience in architecture, historic preservation, urban planning, and economic development have been hired to assist in and lead the redevelopment planning process.

The Redevelopment Planning process is being led by a Steering Committee made up of the Baraboo Mayor and City Administrator and the County Board Chair, County Administrator and the facilities manager. The planning process is being coordinated by the Land Resources and Environment Department and consultants from Insite Consulting Architects (ICA) and Kendig Keast Collaborative (KKC). Final approval of the plan will be voted on by the City of Baraboo Common Council, Sauk County Board of Supervisors and the Campus Commission.

There were two public input sessions hosted to gather feedback from residents with idea sessions, live polling, and workshop activities. These sessions were held on February 17th at the Baraboo Sauk County Campus and on February 18th at the Reedsburg Public Library.
