FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

CONTACT: Cynthia Bodendein, Health Officer

The Department of Health Services (DHS) announced on December 14, 2009 that public health
departments and private health care providers have been notified that they may start vaccinating members of the general public. However, DHS has instructed all health care providers to continue efforts to reach out to and vaccinate those in the CDC target groups. The Sauk County Public Health Department proceeded to offer and vaccinate all school children in December. The department will return to the schools for children requiring a second dose of vaccine (children <10 years) in early January.
