Local Coalition Hosts Free Educational Webinar for Parents

Sauk County, Wis. — The Sauk County Partnership for Prevention coalition is inviting parents/caregivers and community members to attend a free online educational webinar, Let’s Talk Vapes and Alcohol, on November 28th from 6 p.m. - 7 p.m.

“This webinar is designed to help support parents and caregivers of youth in grades 3-12, but all are welcome,” says Kate Stough, coalition coordinator for Partnership for Prevention. “Our expert presenters will discuss up to date brain science, and what to do and say to have successful small talks with youth about vapes and alcohol.”

According to Jessie Phalen, Coalition Chairperson for the Sauk County Partnership for Prevention, it is important to talk early and often with youth to encourage them to make healthy choices. “Research shows that these small talks should start around 8 years old. That may seem young, but this is when youth begin to form their earliest opinions about alcohol,” Phalen says. There are resources and guides on how to have successful small talks with youth online at www.p4psauk.org.

If you wish to participate, mark your calendar for Tuesday, November 28th from 6-7pm.
Scheduling conflict? Register and the recording will be emailed out after the event.
