White School

The White School, 242 North Lexington Street, Spring Green, WI will be recognized with a plaque representing the Sauk County Historic Landmark Committee's designation as a County Historic Site on December 21, 2007, 10am, at the school.

The school was built in 1877, in a modified Italianate style. It is a two story building, with four classrooms. The first story has 12 foot ceilings and column support, the second floor has 13 foot ceilings with a clear span overhead truss system. The school is primarily in its original condition, except for a cupola and shutters which have been removed from the exterior, and some light fixtures and black boards which have been removed from the interior.

The building was used as a school from 1877 until 1985. In 1989 the school district sold the school to the Spring Green Congregational Church, which used the building as an educational center. Eric Ferguson purchased the building in 2002, and uses it as a photo studio today.
