Final Health Insurance Marketplace Enrollment Fairs

Contact: Annie Allen, Public Health Nurse

Since October 1 last year, more than 6 million people have enrolled in new coverage under the health care law. They’ve signed up either for private insurance through the Health Insurance Marketplace or for the Medicaid program. There is still time for you to enroll and have coverage in 2014. Certified Application Counselors and Insurance Agents will be available two more times to assist you. The enrollment fair on Monday, February 17, 2014 will be from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. Walk-ins will be assisted on a first come, first serve basis up until 4:00 pm. The Enrollment Fair hours for March 5, 2014 are 10:00 am to 7:00 pm. Assistance is once again on a first come, first serve basis up until 6:00 pm. The Enrollment Fairs will be in the basement of the West Square Building in Baraboo.

When you apply for coverage in the Health Insurance Marketplace, you’ll need to provide some information about you and your household; including income, any insurance you currently have, and some additional items. You will need to bring the following to the Enrollment Fair:

  • ID information for all members of your family (age, Social Security numbers, or legal permanent resident/green card or visa numbers.)
  • Income for all family members because you will have to estimate your 2014 family income to get your financial assistance (pay stub or tax forms, or other documents showing income.)
  • Information about insurance offered through your job or your spouse’s job, even if you don’t take it, including how much it costs for a single plan.

The Marketplace open enrollment period ends March 31, 2014.
