LAND

The Land Resources & Environment Department's Zoning Services Division provides technical information and assistance to the public, town officials and county board supervisors.   The Zoning Division is tasked with permitting, inspections and enforcement of the ordinances the department administers.  These ordinances include:  Zoning, Shoreland Protection, Floodplain, Rural Identification System, Nonmetallic Mining Reclamation, and Private Onsite Waste Water Treatment Systems Ordinance.

Land Use and Sanitary Permits have now gone fully on-line.

Chapter 7 Zoning Ordinance Amendments

Over the past two years, the Land Resources and Environment Department has been working on an amendment to the Sauk County Chapter 7 Zoning Code. The amendments to the ordinance were generated from changes to state law, requests from Towns, to address land use issues and changing land use patterns. Changes have been made throughout Chapter 7 that include updated use and development standards, amended zoning districts, new zoning and overlay districts.
