Accessible Hunting Blind at White Mound Co. Park

Sauk County Parks and Recreation is excited to announce the addition of an accessible hunting blind at White Mound County Park! Nestled behind the park maintenance building near a food plot area sits the blind - complete with two chairs, heat, electricity and lighting. The blind is available to those with a valid Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources permit for people with disabilities to hunt deer and turkey.

There are nine hunting periods to choose from, starting in April and ending in January 1, 2027 - please see below.

  • Spring youth turkey: April 11 – 12, 2026
  • Period A spring turkey: April 15 – 21, 2026
  • Period B spring turkey: April 22 – 28, 2026
  • Period C spring turkey: April 29 – May 5, 2026
  • Period D spring turkey: May 6 – 12, 2026
  • Period E spring turkey: May 13 – 19, 2026
  • Period F spring turkey: May 20 – 26, 2026
  • Archery / crossbow deer season opener: September 12 – 20, 2026
  • Gun deer hunt for hunters with disabilities: October 3 – 11, 2026
  • Archery / crossbow deer early rut: October 17 – 25, 2026
  • Archery / crossbow deer prime rut: October 31 – November 8, 2026
  • Gun deer season: November 21 – November 29, 2026
  • Muzzleloader deer season: November 30 – December 9, 2026
  • Antlerless deer rifle / archery: December 10 – 13, 2026
  • Antlerless deer rifle / archery Holiday Hunt: December 24, 2026 – January 1, 2027

The use of the blind will be determined by a lottery. If you're interested in utilizing the accessible hunting blind, please review, complete and submit the below application and agreement. Completed and signed applications and agreements can be sent to Sauk County Parks and Recreation via email at parks.rec@saukcountywi.gov or by mail at S7995 White Mound Drive, Hillpoint, WI 53937.

Applications and agreements for the 2026 hunting periods are due by March 24, 2026!

Upon the application deadline, Sauk County Parks will randomly choose nine applications. The first application drawn will get first choice of a hunting period. If awarded, we'll contact the applicant. After notification of the award, the applicant must schedule a visit to meet with Park staff for explanation of rules, parking, blind access, etc. This meeting must be completed seven (7) days prior to the awarded period and will occur at White Mound County Park, anytime Monday through Thursday, 8 AM to 3 PM, unless otherwise arranged with Park staff.
