The meeting was called to order and certification of Open Meeting compliance was given at 4:00 P.M. Motion by Bindl, second by Orth to adopt agenda. Motion carried.
Motion by Calkins, second by Lange, to approve the minutes of the prior meeting. Motion carried.
Public Comment: None
Communications: A. Kuhlmann discusses the American Society of Criminology in Washington D.C. where she will be presenting a forum on restorative justice. M. Krueger discusses the new grant opportunity through the MacArthur Foundation; this is a grant that J. Krueger has reviewed and will be presenting to the CJCC.
Review of Map: The draft of the phase I map is presented and the subcommittee reviews each decision making point and intersecting agency point. Recommendations on some layout and informational pieces are presented and the subcommittee agrees to these changes. This results in a Motion by Calkins, second by Wenzel to approve the revised map for dissemination to the CJCC at their February meeting; subject to email review and approval of the changes on Tuesday February 17, 2015.
Mapping Next Step: The subcommittee reviews the goal of this group and the system map as a whole, discussing what should be done next to continue the progress of successfully meeting the goal. The subcommittee decides to now look at each agency’s process in detail focusing on who, what, when, where and why of each decision point so that both strengths and weaknesses can be assessed. The subcommittee decides to begin this next step with looking at law enforcement which is the first entry point into the criminal justice system.
