Dementia Friendly Sauk County

The ADRC has several resources to offer people living with dementia, their caregivers, local businesses and organizations, and community members. Dementia Care Specialist

The ADRC has a Dementia Care Specialist (DCS) that is responsible for assisting individuals and families living with dementia to continue to be active in their community and remain in their homes for as long as they are able.

ADRC Resources

The ADRC can train local businesses as Dementia Friendly so that employees can recognize and assist people living with dementia and their caregivers. The ADRC also has a training for community members who wish to learn more about dementia, called Dementia Friends. Lastly, the ADRC holds virtual reality trainings called Dementia Live for people to feel and understand what it is like to have dementia.

Alzheimer's Association

The mission of the Alzheimer's Association is: to eliminate Alzheimer's disease through the advancement of research; to provide and enhance care and support services for all affected; and to reduce the risk of dementia through the promotion of brain health. Wisconsin Alzheimer's Institute

The Wisconsin Alzheimer’s Institute is committed to health equity and improving the quality of life of people living with Alzheimer’s disease or other dementia and their families. Through research initiatives, statewide memory clinic development, education and public health programs, we identify and provide strategies to reduce dementia risk and offer access to effective care.
