*“This meeting is open to the public. However, in light of the COVID-19 pandemic, members of the public may wish to watch the meeting on streaming video which can be found on the County’s webpage at https://www.co.sauk.wi.us/meetings.  No one should attend the meeting if they are experiencing COVID- or flu-like symptoms, have a fever, sore throat or recently experienced a loss of taste or smell. DRAFT MINUTES

 

Transportation Coordination Committee

Thursday, August 27, 2020     10:00 A.M.

Basement Room B30, West Square Building,

505 Broadway, Baraboo, WI 53913

Members Present: Brattset, Brown, Carlson, Dorner, Ellington, Klepper, Stehling, Waddell, Wolkowski

Members Absent:   Hause (excused), Leguizamon (excused), Rudolph (excused), Wildman (excused), Woodward (excused)

County Personnel:  Blodgett, Zomer, Dankert, ADRC

1) Klepper called the meeting to order at 10:10 a.m. and compliance with the Open Meeting Law was verified.

2) Introduction of Domingo Leguizamon – will be presented on the next meeting in November, 2020.

3) Chair: Klepper nominated Carlson, Carlson nominated Klepper.

MOTION (Dorner/Wolkowski) to close nominations and vote to elect Klepper as Chair.  Motion carried unanimously and Klepper presided over remainder of the meeting.

Vice-Chair:  Dorner nominated Carlson; seconded by Brattset. 

MOTION (Brattset/Klepper) to close nominations and vote to elect Carlson as Vice Chair.  Motion carried unanimously.

Secretary:  Motion (Carlson/Wolkowski) to reelect Ellington as secretary. Vote all in favor.

4) MOTION (Dorner/Stehling) to adopt the agenda. Motion carried unanimously and agenda adopted.

5) MOTION (Ellington/Carlson) to approve the minutes of the regular meeting from February 20th, 2020. Motion carried unanimously. Vote all in favor.

6)  Public Comment:  None

7) Communications:  Brown informed that she is resigning from the committee. Blodgett presented Stehling as the new committee member replacing Curry. Discussion followed

MOTION (Dorner/Brattset) to accept the resignation of Brown and Blodgett to offer Cynthia Haggard to join the transportation committee. Vote all in favor.

8) Discussion and possible action: Karl Schulte resignation from ARDC Transportation Committee and possible replacement - Paul Woodward – Discussion followed.

MOTION (Ellington/Carlson) to approve Woodward as a replacement for Schulte. Vote all in favor.

9) Transportation reports:

  • Blodgett presented to the board the taxi survey results. At our last meeting in February the board asked ADRC to mail to all clients surveys asking about the taxi service. We received a lot of feedback. Clients from Reedsburg and Sauk were very satisfied, clients from Baraboo/West Baraboo submitted a various comments regarding the new company in Baraboo. One of the most common complaint was the waiting time for the ride, clients concerned about privacy –sharing rides and etc. Discussion followed.

  • Transportation updates – Blodgett informed the board that ADRC is working on various grants -53.10 and 85.21. Discussion followed.

    MOTION (Stehling/Wolkowski) to approve ADRC to submit 53.10 grant application. Vote all in favor.

    10)Discussion of competing programs -Blodgett informed the board that we ADRC have a huge increase on wheelchair rides. In the last few days we completed 19 wheelchair rides and due to the high demand ADRC is hoping to purchase another wheelchair handicap accessible van. She stated that ADRC is not transporting clients from the nursing homes. Discussion followed. No action taken.

11) Next meeting date and time: Thursday, November 19th, 2020 10:00 a.m.

 MOTION (Ellington/Dorner) to adjourn until Thursday, November 19th, 2020 at 10:00a.m.  Motion carried unanimously and the meeting adjourned at 11:06 a.m.
