DRAFT MEETING MINUTES

 

COMMITTEE: Aging & Disability Resource Center and Veterans Service Office Committee

DATE / TIME:  Wednesday, May 5th, 2021     4:00 P.M.

PLACE:            West Square Building, Room 213

                         Baraboo, WI  53913

Members Present:  Bushweiler, Curry, Dorner, Polivka, and Riek

Members Absent:   none

County Personnel:  Sandy Deich, VSO; Quinn Hause, ADRC; Tony Tyczynski, VSO; Stefka Zomer, ADRC;

Others Present:       none

Curry called the meeting to order at 4:02 p.m. and compliance with the Open Meeting Law was verified.

MOTION (Bushweiler/Polivka) to adopt the agenda.  Motion carried unanimously.

MOTION (Polivka/Riek) to approve the meeting minutes from April 7th, 2021.  Motion carried unanimously.

Public Comment:  None

Communications:  None

Tony Tyczynski, Veterans Service Office:

  1. VSO departmental updates and service trends

  2. Tyczynski discussed the outreach by VSO; In April VA held COVID Vaccine clinic at West Square Building; VA staff attended some virtual meetings. Discussion followed, No action taken.

  3. Tyczynski discussed the current Veterans case trends –reopening/reconsideration of previously denied claims. Discussion followed.No action taken.

  4. Tyczynski reviewed the year to date activity for his department. He presented to the board his monthly report. Discussion followed. No action taken

       b) Tyczynski presented the monthly financial statements for his department.  Discussion Followed, No action taken

       c)  Consider approval of the Monthly Invoices – Discussion followed.

MOTION (Dorner/Bushweiler) to approve the April 2021 bills in the amount of $2,018.08. Motion carried unanimously.

 Quinn Hause, Aging & Disability Resource Center

  1. Hause informed the board that ADRC is working on the 3 year Aging Plan which is due late summer. As of 4/30/2021, the ADRC received 206 survey responses. The top three priorities that were brought to our attention were: transportation, money and in home care/chore services. ADRC held two more focus groups in April and send out secondary survey. In the next few months ADRC we will continue to work on interviews with local leaders. Discussion followed. No action taken.

  2. Hause presented to the board her monthly report. Hause informed the board members that starting mid-June ADRC will start face-to face “Welcome to Medicare’ presentations with limited class size of 10 participants.  Discussion followed. No action taken.

  3. Hause presented the monthly financial statements and list of invoices for her department. Discussion followed.

    MOTION (Polivka/Dorner) to approve the April 2021 bills in the amount of $ 29,813.90. Motion carried unanimously.

      g)     State’s reply on Regional Funding- Discussion followed. No action taken.

Aging & Disability Resource Center of Eagle County Board Update: Discussion followed. No action taken.

MOTION (Polivka/Bushweiler) to adjourn until Wednesday, June 2nd, 2021 at 4:00 p.m. Motion carried unanimously and the meeting adjourned at 5:40 p.m.
