“This meeting is open to the public. However, in light of the COVID-19 pandemic, members of the public can access the meeting by Zoom or by phone using the links and numbers bellow. No one should attend the meeting if they are experiencing COVID - or flu-like symptoms, have a fever, sore throat or recently experienced a loss of taste or smell. Masks are encouraged but not required. Social distancing of 6 feet is required.”

DRAFT MEETING MINUTES

 

COMMITTEE: Aging & Disability Resource Center and Veterans Service Office Committee

DATE / TIME: Wednesday, April 6th, 2022     4:00 P.M.

PLACE:            West Square Building, County Board Room 326

                        Baraboo, WI  53913

Members Present:  Curry, Bushweiler (arrived at 4:05pm), Dorner, Polivka, and Riek

Members Absent:   None

County Personnel:  Susan Blodgett, ADRC; Quinn Hause, ADRC; Tony Tyczynski, VSO; Stefka Zomer, ADRC.

Others Present:       None

Curry called the meeting to order at 4:00 p.m. and compliance with the Open Meeting Law was verified.

MOTION (Dorner/Polivka) to adopt the agenda.  Motion carried unanimously.

MOTION (Polivka/Dorner) to approve the meeting minutes March 9th, 2022.Motion carried unanimously.

Communications:  None

Tony Tyczynski, Veterans Service Office:

  1. VSO departmental updates and service trends
  • Tyczynski discussed the outreach by VSO; He informed the board that the outreach is picking up. The LaValle remote office day was well attended. During the previous month Tyczynski attended the Regional CVSO training at Portage; Inter-Service Family Assistance Committee at Madison; and virtual VA Regional Office County VSO Meeting.  Discussion followed. No action taken.
  • Tyczynski discussed the current Veterans case trends –Tyczynski informed the board that VA Health Care Community referrals take really long time.  Discussion followed.  No action taken.
  1. Tyczynski presented the monthly financial statements for his department.  Discussion followed. No action taken

       c)    Consider approval of the Monthly Invoices – Discussion followed.

MOTION (Polivka/Bushweiler) to approve the March 2022 bills in the amount of $2, 117.24. Motion carried unanimously.

Susan Blodgett, Aging & Disability Resource Center

  1. Blodgett presented to the board the ADRC monthly report. ADRC is looking to hire new volunteer coordinator. March for meals was happened March 21-25th, 2022. Volunteer drivers were Tim McCumber, Tom Dorner, Mark Pocan, Dave Considine, Howard Marklein, Tony Kurtz, and John Grothjan. In the next few week ADRC is planning to re-open all congregate dining centers in May 2022. Our Transportation program is averaging between 100-110 rides a week.  Discussion followed. No action taken.
  2. Blodgett informed the board that ADRC wasn’t able to purchase Nutrition vehicle from the State contact due to no vehicle available at this moment. We are hoping to get more information by June 2022. ADRC would like to purchase new wheelchair accessible van using DOT trust fund balance. Discussion followed. No action taken.
  3. Blodgett informed the board that ADRC would like to resume My Meal My Way program at Reedsburg Country Club. The meals will be soup and salad – 2 days a week. He suggested donation per meal will be $5.50. Discussion followed.

MOTION(Dorner/Polivka) to authorize a contact between ADRC and Reedsburg Country club for a period of 1 year. Vote all in favor.

  1. Blodgett presented the monthly financial statements for her department. Discussion followed.
  2. Blodgett presented the Monthly invoices for her department. Discussion followed.

MOTION (Dorner/Polivka) to approve the March 2022 bills in the amount of $38,094.36. Motion carried unanimously.

Aging & Disability Resource Center of Eagle County Board Update:  Blodgett informed the board that ADRC of Eagle County is planning to have a play presentation “Fortune Cookie” using DCS carry over funds. Discussion followed.

MOTION (Bushweiler/ Polivka) to authorize ADRC of Sauk County to not participate in the play “Fortune Cookie”. Vote all in favor.

MOTION (Polivka/Riek) to adjourn until May. Motion carried unanimously, and the meeting adjourned at 5:08 p.m.
