Purpose

Authorizing the Department of Human Services to create one full time Economic Support Assistant Supervisor position.

Background

The number of individuals and families has increased significantly and caseloads are as high as 800 individuals/families per worker making caseloads no longer manageable.

Resolution Body

WHEREAS, the Sauk County Department of Human Services has, as of January 1, 2012,  redesigned its provision of Income Maintenance/Economic Support services as part of the Capital Consortium; and,

     

            WHEREAS, the number of individuals and families requiring and eligible for Economic Support benefits have increased significantly; and,

 

WHEREAS, this increase has resulted in Economic Support Workers having caseloads as high as 800 individuals/families; and,

     

            WHEREAS, these caseloads are no longer manageable for Economic Support Workers and the Economic Support Supervisor; and

 

             WHEREAS, the 2015 Human Services Budget Proposal includes funding for this position consisting of 75% federal revenue and 25% tax levy.

 

            NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Sauk County Department of Human Services be authorized to create one full-time (1.0 FTE) Economic Support Assistant Supervisor position to assist the Economic Support Supervisor and staff , effective January 1, 2015.
