SAUK COUNTY NATURAL BEAUTY COUNCIL

MEETING MINUTES

October 15, 2013

The meeting was called to order at 9:32 p.m.

Present:               Linda Borleske, Ann Swengel, Scott Weber, Brian Peper, Patsy Boettcher, Donna Meise and Penny Pohle.

Motion by Linda, seconded by Patsy to adopt the agenda of the October 15, 2013 meeting.    Motion                 

carried.

Motion by Linda, seconded by Patsy to adopt the minutes of the September 11, 2013 meeting. 

Motion carried.

CORRESPONDENCE

Thank you letter from County Board Chair Marty Krueger for the Supervisors Picnic at the former Badger Plant.

County Clean Sweep October 19^th.

Ag Plastics pick up October 18^th.

SUPERVISORS PICNIC

Discussed the picnic.  Total NBC expenses were $325.79 to hold the event.

BUSINESS/DISCUSSION

6-1.        Environmental Issues

Earth Day discussion.   The theme for the 2014 event will be birds.  Earth day meeting to follow.

6-2.        Highway 23 Wayside Prairie Project

Discussed a spring project with Reedsburg students.

6-3.        LaValle Prairie

Steve will contact Bev and coordinating a prairie burn.

6-4.        Mirror Lake Project

Nothing new to report.

6-5.        Legislativie

Discussed the government shutdown.

6-6.        Badger Prairie

Discussed the need for removing invasive brush from the prairie.  Will look into finding students to assist in a work project.
