Motion by Brian, seconded by Patsy, to approve the minutes of the March 12, 2013 meeting. Motion carried.
CORRESPONDENCE
Scott reviewed the sign bids. Scott is concerned that the sign bids did not have enough detail. Another concern is that the new signs have a short field life. Steve reported not all bids have been received. Scott wants a sign that will last.
Steve informed the group that the Highway 23 projects dates have changed. The new work day will be in May.
EARTH DAY
Scott requested electronics for the events. Will coordinate with the campus. Everything is ready for the earth day event on April 21, 2013. Trees will be picked up next Friday. Set up begins next Friday. Set up starts at 9:30 a.m. Sunday.
BUSINESS/DISCUSSION
6-1. Environmental Issues
Nothing new to report.
6-2. Highway 23 Prairie Project
The new work day is scheduled for May 15th, rain date May 16th. The time is 12:30 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. and 1:45 to 2:45 p.m.
6-3. LaValle Prairie
Bev is requesting a prairie burn. Scott will view and consider if timing will allow.
6-4. Mirror Lake Project
Ann has marked the prairie. Steve will start cutting in preparation for the earth day work day.
6-5. Legislative
Clean sweep discussion. June 1st is clean sweep. Brain was too late to offer a County Board resolution for Earth Day. He asked to be reminded next year to have the resolution ready. Brain has also notified the local papers and Reedsburg radio station of the earth day event.
Discussed the County Board picnic at the Badger prairie. Donna talked to the DNR, working on dates, also in discussion with Marty and Kathy.
6-6. Badger Prairie
Scott discussed the sign bids. He wants the sign to last at least 20 years. He will check back with the sign companies for more sign details.
Scott also provided an update on the Badger turn over. ATV trails are being discussed as a use. Discussed county involvement and DNR/DOT Highway 12 realignment at the S curve.
Scott discussed the need for brush removal at the prairie. Considering options. Burning a problem because the Highway is so close.
