Purpose

The Wisconsin Department of Military Affairs/Office of Emergency Communications (DMA/OEC) is pleased to announce the State Fiscal Year (SFY) 2026 NG9-1-1 GIS Grant Program funding opportunity. The NG9-1-1 GIS Grant Program is intended to provide funding to county land information offices for data creation, preparation, and remediation activities necessary for enabling Next Generation 9-1-1 (NG9-1-1).

GIS data plays a critical role in full call routing to ESInet (Emergency service IP network) and accurate up to date data is the driving factor behind the grant. The following benchmarks must be met on a quarterly basis to receive reimbursement. All required NG9-1-1 GIS Data layers follow the Wisconsin NG9-1-1 GIS Data Standards (NENA i3 standards), 100% critical error free and above a 50% warning error accuracy.

The grant funding is provided to support data maintenance tasks to ensure continued compliance with the data standard for enabling NG9-1-1. The grant funding could be used for ortho-imagery to support 9-1-1 mapping, data maintenance, mapping software upgrades, server upgrades required for 9-1-1 data/mapping, costs of ALI data extracts and GIS Data provisioning software.
