You are invited to submit a bid proposal on the University of Wisconsin Baraboo – Sauk County Science Building Construction / Renovation project.

The project consists of construction of a renovation of approximately 10,000 square feet of existing science building space and the new construction of approximately 14,000 square feet for a new educational science facility. The work consists of site work, earthwork, landscaping, concrete, precast concrete, unit masonry, structural steel, steel joists & deck, rough & finish carpentry, architectural woodwork, insulation, single-ply roofing, flashings & sheet metal, hollow metal, wood doors, aluminum entrances, windows, hardware, glass & glazing, curtain wall/sloped glazing, plaster, drywall, tile, acoustical tile, resilient work, carpet, painting, visual display boards, toilet partitions, fire extinguishers & cabinets, folding panel partitions, toilet accessories, projection screens, laminated plastic casework, elevator lift, plumbing, hvac and electrical work.

Lump sum bid proposals will be received as follows:

GC-1 General Construction

The City of Baraboo and Sauk County, the Owner, will receive bids until Thursday, July 31, 2014 at 1:30pm, in the City Clerk’s Office at 135 4th Street, Baraboo, WI 53913. Bids received after this time will not be accepted. Bids will be opened publically in Room A4 at the University of Baraboo – Sauk County on Thursday, July 31, 2014 at 2:00pm.

The Owner reserves the right to accept Bidder’s Base Bid Proposal, accept any one or more of the Bidder’s Alternate Bid’s, reject any or all Bids, award contract based on its investigation of the Bidder’s, as well as acceptance of Alternates all of which the Owner deems to be in its best interest and waive any informalities or minor irregularities in the Bids and waive minor irregularities in the bidding procedure, all at the Owner’s discretion.

Proposals shall be prepared in accordance with contract documents prepared by Bray Associates Architects, Inc., 173 N. Broadway, Milwaukee, Wisconsin 53202.

The BIDDING DOCUMENTS may be examined at the City Engineer’s office at 135 4th Street and are available to view and for electronic download on the City of Baraboo’s Engineering website at City of Baraboo Quest Project Link or at www.QuestCDN.com for a fee of $10. The Quest project number is 3413044.

A certified check, a cashier's check or a bid bond payable to the Owner in an amount not less than 5% of the maximum bid proposal shall accompany each bid as a guarantee that if the bid is accepted, the Bidder will execute and file the proposed contract and bond within ten days after the award of contract.

Attention of Bidders is particularly called to the requirements as to conditions of employment to be observed and minimum wage rates to be paid under the contract as required by Wisconsin Statutes S. 66.0903 and Wisconsin Administrative Code Section IND 90.08. 3102 – 00 11 13/2

Bidders shall bring discrepancies, omissions, conflicts of doubt as to true meaning of any part of the contract documents to the attention of Architect EMAIL ONLY (mhacker@brayarch.com) at least seven (7) working days prior to bid date.
