Members present:     Judge Wendy Klicko, Ryan Ramnarace, Mindy Mattson, Dan Brattset, Tom Kreigl, Annie Getsinger, Mike Albrecht, Jeff Weiler, and Regina Baldwin

 

Members absent:       Summer Karll, Michelle Yates-Wickus, Karen DeSanto

           

  1. Meeting called to order by Committee Chair Ramnarace and certification of Open Meetings Law compliance given at 3:45 p.m.  

 

  1. Motion by Albrecht, second by Judge Klicko to adopt agenda. Motion carried.

 

  1. Motion by Brattset, second by Albrecht to adopt amended minutes from 06-26-19 meeting. Motion carried.

  1. Communications: None

 

  1. Subcommittee Chairman Ramnarace appointed Dan Brattset as Vice-Chair, and Annie Getsinger as Secretary of the Juvenile Justice Systems Subcommittee

 

  1. Mattson gave a review of the Sauk County Youth Justice Unit’s process map, explained the history of the map’s development, and highlighted possible opportunities for further inquiry in youth justice. Mattson provided the subcommittee with infographics that detailed demographics, offense types and referral sources to youth justice. Following discussion, the subcommittee agreed that it would be valuable to develop a process map for law enforcement’s response to youth. Ramnarace, Getsinger, and Albrecht will create a survey, with input from the subcommittee, to map law enforcement’s youth justice processes.

 

  1. Baldwin gave an update to the subcommittee about meeting with CJCC consultant Tom Webber regarding Juvenile Justice Systems

 

  1. Brattset, Mattson, and Weiler gave an update regarding the youth diversion program. Weiler received training in the program’s Carey Guides curriculum; Boys and Girls Club has hired staff for the program and those staff have received training. Brattset reported the program is on schedule to start this coming school year.

 

  1. Next meeting and agenda items: Date and Time: August 21, 2019   3:30 P.M.         Agenda items: Survey development for mapping      
  2. Motion by Judge Klicko, second by Getsinger to adjourn the meeting.  Motion carried at 4:43 p.m.
