Members Present: Peter Vedro, Patricia Rego, Tom Kriegl, Kevin Calkins, Cathy Warwick, Dan Brattset, Elizabeth La Broscian, Captain Lewis Lange, Kara Rolf, Judge Screnock, Brian Basham, Annette Kuhlmann, Alene Bolin

 

Members Absent: Joanne Jones, Chief Strunz, Noelle Sapiro, Ryan Ramnarace, Leonie Dolch,

 

Others Present: Regina Baldwin, Kristen Ederer, Scott Von Asten

             

Call Meeting to Order:

The meeting was called to order and certification of Open Meeting compliance was given at 3:33 p.m.

 

Adopt Agenda:

Motion by Rego second Vedro to adopt agenda. Motion carried.

 

Minutes:

Motion to approve minutes by Vedro second by Warwick to adopt minutes. Motion carried.

None.

 

Communications:

None.

 

July CJCC Report – Baldwin

Treatment Court participant updates. Pre-Booking Grant extended two years. TAD Grant increased by $10,000 due to available funds from the state. Tom Weber consult concluded – discussion of possibly having him come back to help with the new Law Enforcement software. Need to locate relevant data points that should be pulled from the new Law Enforcement software – very important to the County Board. Discussions of new positions being requested.

 

Bylaw Revision: Discussion and Action on Addition of Board of Health

Discussion and agreement of changes. Formal vote at the next meeting – add to August agenda.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Chief Strunz resigning from CJCC and AJS chair – Recognition of Service

New LEO representative for CJCC:

Discussion of possible new Law Enforcement representative.

 

New AJS chair:

For the interim, Dan Brattset and Cathy Warwick will co-chair Adult Justice System’s committee.

 

Committees: New Structure; Identify Goals & Action Plans (Review with Tom Weber 06/27)

Adult Justice Systems:

Did not meet due to Chief Strunz resignation.

 

Juvenile Justice Systems:

  • Improve the mapping process by adding in Law Enforcement, Human Services, Court, and Community pieces.

  • Diversion for first offenders by September 2019 – partner with the Boys & Girls Club.

 

Victims Focus Committee:

  • New teams established: Sexual Assault Response Team, Domestic Abuse Response Team, Child Maltreatment Response Team.

  • Plan to reach out to school districts to find qualified people to join the teams.

  • Next meeting scheduled for 07/31/19 @ 9:00 a.m.

 

Discussion on Budget Concerns/Changes

Discussion of proposed new positions.
