Members Present: Patricia Rego, Kevin Calkins, Chief Strunz, Cathy Warwick, Dan Brattset, Brian Basham, Noelle Sapiro, Elizabeth La Broscian, Annette Kuhlmann, Jay Englund,

 

Members Absent: Alene Bolin, Peter Vedro, Tom Kriegl, Judge Barrett, Judge Klicko, Judge Screnock, Leonie Dolch, Captain Lange, Ryan Ramnarace, Rick Spoentgen

Call Meeting to Order:

The meeting was called to order and certification of Open Meeting compliance was given at 3:36 p.m.

 

Adopt Agenda:

Motion by Englund, second Strunz to adopt agenda. Motion carried.

 

Minutes:

Motion by Warwick, second by Englund to adopt minutes. Motion carried.

 

Public Comment:

None.

 

Communications:

None.

 

February CJCC Report/Update – Baldwin

UW-Baraboo student intern – discussion of project at jail; may present final project at the Capital in Madison, Wisconsin.

Need topics for Annual Meeting (May 2019)

U.W. LaFollette proposal was accepted – Dan Brattset and Tom Kriegl had conference call with school this week.

Ad-Hoc Committees – Membership, Appointments, & Organization:

Pre-trial Monitoring – Next meeting 05/07/19 @ 12:00 p.m.

Peer Support – Brattset provided updates. Next meeting 05/28/19 @ 3:00 p.m.

Risk Assessment – Action: Adopt Ohio Risk Assessment System (ORAS) as CJCC Risk Assessment tool. Motion by Calkins, second by Rego. Motion Carried. Next meeting 05/15/19 @ 3:30 p.m.

 

Standing and Sub-Committee Updates:

Adult Justice Systems – Didn’t meet, waiting on Tom Weber recommendations.

Adult Treatment Court – Continue to work on updates on Policy Manual

SART – Discussed incorporation of lethality assessment into Law Enforcement Domestic Violence and incident reports. Department of Human Services exploring a collaboration with Boys and Girls Club for drop-in center targeting low risk, first time offender juveniles.

Juvenile Justice Systems – No meeting last month due to weather. Next meeting 04/24/19 @ 3:30 p.m.  

Data Collection –Next meeting 05/15/19 @ 8:30 a.m.

Date and Time:   No March meeting. Tom Weber training at U.W. Baraboo. Annual meeting May 16, 2019.
