Members Present: Cathy Warwick, Dan Brattset, Rick Spoentgen, Peter Vedro, Captain Lange, Brian Basham, Tom Kriegl

 

Members Absent: Jay Englund, Leonie Dolch, Judge Barrett, Alene Bolin

 

Others Present: Tim Lawther

Call Meeting to Order:

The meeting was called to order and certification of Open Meeting compliance was given at __3:30_ p.m.

 

Adopt Agenda: Motion by __P.Vedro__ second by __R. Spoentgen__ to adopt agenda.

Motion carried.

 

Minutes: Motion by __P.Vedro___ second by ___B Basham__ to approve the minutes of the prior meeting with change noted that Tom Kriegl be listed as voting member so done with  chairman’s appointment/approval. Motion carried.

Update on Risk Evaluation Process

Discussion on Sauk County Law Enforcement proxy and its use in order to increase referrals to JDS programming. Rick Spoentgen volunteered to contact the BPD officer who voiced questions at the last CJCC meeting in public comment about the proxy. Rick will assist in clarifying remaining questions that he may have.

 

Updates on Drug Court

Discussion on how proxy conversation may increase referrals to Adult Treatment Court.

ATC participant handbook and admit packet are being refreshed to score at appropriate literacy levels. Concern noted if program referrals do increase, do we have the capacity to do LOC Assessments and provide corresponding treatment?

 

Updates on Release Planning

Community Development Block Grant funding for the position are in county routing system and will go to BOH and SCBOS for approval this month.

 

Update on Committee Action Plans

Good discussion from Tom Weber on work he and Bob Gibson are doing with three committees Action Plans. Plan to report out at CJCC meeting March 19th and then consultants are hoping to establish committee priorities.

 

Discussion: Mental Health /AODA Assessment in the Jail

Dan Brattset gave a brief highlight of the complicated issues of assessment in the jail.

Due to the complexity of the issue, it was determined a new working group will be formed to address the subject moving forward the group members will consist of Dan Brattset, Lewis Lange, Tim Lawther, Cathy Warwick and Jessica Migal.
