Call to Order
The meeting was called to order at 9:00 AM by Chair Ashford.
Certification of Open Meeting Notice
Requirements of the Open Meeting Law were met.
Approval of Agenda
Motion made by Dietz, second by Smoke to approve the agenda. Motion carried.
Approval of Minutes of Last Meeting
Motion made by Dietz, second by Smoke to approve the minutes of the regular meeting of October 10, 2012. Motion carried.
Public Comment: None
Communications
o Erickson presented email from Aldo Leopold (Memorial Reserve trails) requesting an extension to file grant annual report form to May 31, 2013. Ashford requested it be added to December meeting agenda.
o Nancy Peidelstein – UW Baraboo event invitation
o Stehling - Simpson Bowles proposal, WACEC planning is going well – mark calendars for April 8, 2013 state conference
Review 2012 Budget and Approval of Vouchers
UW Extension: Budget reviewed. 2012 agent contracts are under budget due to vacant Ag position for 6 months and interim 4-H position; budget will reflect full staffing in 2013. Motion was made by Stehling, second by Smoke to approve the vouchers for the month of October in the amount of $3,757.51. Motion carried.
Arts & Culture: Motion was made by Smoke, second by Stehling to approve the vouchers for the month of October in the amount of $880.27. Motion carried.
Committee asked Erickson to provide a brief narrative explaining the 2012 end of year budget (considering vacant positions)
Resolution authorizing reimbursement for attendance at the WI Arts Board Regranting workshop
Motion was made by Smoke, second by Stehling to approve the resolution authorizing Ashford for reimbursement for attendance at the WI Arts Board regranting workshop. Motion carried.
UW Extension, Arts & Culture Updates/Reports
o Update on regranting meeting – October 15 in Wausau; Ashford attended required meeting. List of Regranting Partners was shared with committee. Ashford suggested an evaluation from our grantees on how they measure our success; from their prospective.
o Erickson gave a brief report on the success of the Fermentation Fest sharing a debriefing and timeline document. Donna Neuwirth will attend meeting in December to give committee a full report.
UW Extension Staff Monthly Reports
Jenny Erickson, CNRED Agent -
o UW Extension featured Baraboo Market Analysis
o Erickson assisted in developing “A Guide for Local Officials’ Business Visits”
o Currently working on developing a community economic development preparedness index survey for the City of Reedsburg
Phyllis Both, Horticulture Educator –
o Master Gardener classes have ended for 2012
o Reflected on projects completed over the summer
o Donated fresh produce to the food pantry
o Huber inmates continue to assist the master gardener’s with projects
o Discussed possible projects for next year including a Sauk County Historical Society medicinal garden
Consideration of Applications for Good Idea Grants
Al Ringling Theatre- requested $500 to help fund movies for Theatre Opportunities for Youth (TOY). Motion made by Smoke, second by Dietz to approve funding $500 to the Al Ringling Theatre to help fund movie opportunities . Motion carried.
