Conservation, Planning, and Zoning (CPZ) Committee members present: J. Berlin C. Spencer, M. Krueger, G. Johnson, C. Whitsell.
Absent: J. Dietz, R. Puttkamer.
Others present: L. Wilson, M. Stieve, B. Simmert, W. Christensen, C. Fowler, S. Gaeddert, J. Butteris
At 8:15 a.m. Spencer called the Special Meeting of the Land Resources and Environment Zoning Committee meeting to order and Wilson certified to be in compliance with the Open Meetings Law.
Discussion of 2020 Budget Projections: Parks Manager Stieve provided information regarding projected 2020 budget projections related to programs, projects, and personnel.
Tour of White Mound Park: Committee members viewed and discussed the campground area, Willie Walsh trail, birding opportunities, Reedsburg school’s benches that were constructed for the park, the horse campground, the lake trail as well as the shop building and barn. Committee members discussed the changes being made to the dump station, forest management on the property, and potential changes to restroom facilities.
Tour Lake Redstone Beach: Committee members viewed beach area as well as the dam and the waterfall area.
Tour of Douglas Landing: Committee members viewed the area. Stieve outlined the proposed improvements that are necessary to control erosion issues.
Tour of North End Boat Landing: Committee members viewed the new piers as well as the kids safety vest area provided by the Town. Discussed potential changes to the restroom facilities. Viewed the grade issue for the launch, as a potential future project due to the cost.
Tour of Hemlock Park and Dam: Committee members viewed the park area first. Committee members traveled to the area of the dam and viewed the system in place. Discussed the municipal dam grant funds, of which the new state budget may or may not include. Stieve noted that the feasibility study would be made available to the Committee on June 13th and options could be further discussed.
Next meetings of the Land Resources and Environment Committee will be held on Thursday, June 13th , Wednesday June 19th and Tuesday June 25th, 2019. Motion by M. Kruger/C. Whitsell to adjourn the meeting at 12:04 p.m. Motion carried, all in favor.
