This meeting is open to the public. However, in light of the COVID-19 pandemic, members of the public may wish to watch the meeting on streaming video which can be found on the County’s webpage at https://www.co.sauk.wi.us/meetings. No one should attend the meeting if they are experiencing COVID- or flu-like symptoms, have a fever, sore throat or recently experienced a loss of taste or smell.

5. Discussion and possible action on decision from SP-03-22, Emily Hendricks appeal. This appeal pertains to a petition to consider a special exception permit request pursuant to s. 7.036(5) of the Sauk Count Zoning Ordinance, for approval of operating a lodging house. The appeal is associated with land described as Lot 1 Lake Redstone Owl Addition, in part of the NE ¼ of the NW ¼ of Section 13, Township 13 North, Range 3 East, Town of La Valle, tax parcel 024-2224-00000 owned by Emily Hendricks.
6. Discussion and possible action on decision from SP-07-22, Andrew Knutson appeal. This appeal pertains to the interpretation of Sauk County Code s.8.006(2) and s.8.006(4)(c)3. The appeal is associated with land described as Lot 20, Plat of Beau Riverain North, including tax parcel 032-1045- 00000, Town of Spring Green, Sauk County, WI, and owned by Andy Knutson.

At 9:08 a.m., Chair White called to order the session of the Sauk County Board of Adjustment and introduced the members of the Board, explained the procedures and order of business for the day. Digmann certified that the legally required notices were posted for the scheduled public hearings. Motion by White, second by Allen to accept the certification for the public hearings. Motion passed 3-0.
Motion by Allen, second by Meier to adopt the agenda. Motion carried, 3-0.
Motion by Meier, second by Allen to adopt the minutes from the April 28, 2022 meeting. Motion carried, 3-0.
Communications: None.
APPEALS:
Discussion and possible action on decision from SP-03-22, Emily Hendricks appeal. This appeal pertains to a petition to consider a special exception permit request pursuant to s. 7.036(5) of the Sauk Count Zoning Ordinance, for approval of operating a lodging house. The appeal is associated with land described as Lot 1 Lake Redstone Owl Addition, in part of the NE ¼ of the NW ¼ of Section 13, Township 13 North, Range 3 East, Town of La Valle, tax parcel 024-2224-00000 owned by Emily Hendricks.
White read the appeal for SP-03-22, Emily Hendricks.
Christensen presented the LaValle Town board minutes from the March 14, 2022 meeting and the recommendations from the Town of LaValle. Christensen read a letter from the applicant.
Christensen read the recommendations from the Town into the record.
Board members discussed the proposal and the standards required.
Motion by White, second by Meier to approve a special exception permit for operating a lodging house based upon the Findings of Fact and Conclusion of Law, subject to the conditions as presented with the recommended change to the quiet hours to 10:00 p.m. instead of 11:00 p.m. Motion carried, 3-0.
Discussion and possible action on decision from SP-07-22, Andrew Knutson appeal. This appeal pertains to the interpretation of Sauk County Code s.8.006(2) and s.8.006(4)(c)3. The appeal is associated with land described as Lot 20, Plat of Beau Riverain North, including tax parcel 032-1045- 00000, Town of Spring Green, Sauk County, WI, and owned by Andy Knutson.
White read the appeal for SP-07-22, Andy Knutson.
Meier asked if White received anything from the attorney that represented the board. White stated she did and asked that copies be made for everyone. The Board reviewed the two potential decisions. The Board indicated which decision the agreed with and Simmert read that decision into the record.
Motion by White, second by Allen to deny the appeal that pertains to the interpretation of Sauk County Code s.8.006(2) and s.8.006(4)(c)3 based upon the Findings of Fact and Conclusion of Law. Motion carried, 3-0.
Motion by Allen, seconded Meier to adjourn at 9.53 a.m. Motion passed, 3-0.
