Tyczynski discussed the current Veterans case trends are very time consuming. Deich updated the board about the homeless veterans – 89 homeless veterans in Sauk County YTD. Veteran homelessness affected 10 families in 2019 which included 22 children in our country not included in our numbers. In the next year VSO is looking forward no identified new veteran’s friendly businesses. Discussion followed; no action taken.

Blodgett presented the monthly report to the committee
Blodgett reported that ADRC is offering to the diner’s new restaurant model at Reedsburg Country Club and at Four Star Restaurant starting January, 2020. Transportation updates – Blodgett reported that the ADRC is continued to work with the city of Baraboo and Abby Vans for the transition from Running, Inc. to Abby Vans on January 1st, 2020. The city of Reedsburg also had a transition to new taxi company but the process is going very smoothly. Blodgett reported that we received a grant from the Department of Veterans affairs. They provided us $0.08 per mile for all vets transported to medical appointments last year.
Blodgett reported that ADRC will have new receptionist in January and we will have to hire a LTE social worker for a few months. Blodgett attended the census meeting in December at the City. It is critical that our elderly are counted; concerns exist with the manner the census will be conducted via electronic means. Discussion followed, no action taken.
Blodgett met with the AARP Vita Tax representative. The tax clinic will start in February and will be open only one day a week. This year AARP Vita tax representatives will be able to help only around 147 people and have a waiting list of 40; this is half of the number seen last year. .
