ADRC TO HOLD RETIREMENT WORKSHOP SEPTEMBER 3

BARABOO, WISCONSIN; August 4, 2014 -- The Aging & Disability Resource Center of Eagle Country – Baraboo/Sauk County will hold a free workshop, “I’m Turning 65/Retiring: Now What?” on Wednesday, September 3 at 4:30 p.m. in Room B30 at the Sauk County West Square Building, 505 Broadway in Baraboo.  The workshop is tailored to people considering retirement, turning 65 or reaching full retirement age.

According to ADRC Elder Benefit Specialist Deb Harvey, “The workshop is designed to provide the necessary information to make an informed retirement plan. We want people to have the tools they need to make the best decisions for themselves.”

Workshop participants will learn about Social Security, Supplemental Security Income (SSI), COBRA, and Medicare Parts A, B, C and D.

“Preparation for retirement can be complicated and overwhelming, but the decisions made ahead of time will affect a person’s comfort level and financial status in the future,” Harvey said. “Our session will focus on the important questions confronting new retirees and those who are continuing to work, even though they are age 65 or at full retirement age.

“I’m Turning 65/Retiring” workshops are presented free of charge by ADRC Elder Benefits Specialists Deb Harvey and Mindy Shrader in January, March, May, July and September.  No reservations are necessary to attend the workshop.  For more information, contact the ADRC at (608) 355-3289 or visit here.
