ADRC TO HOLD TRANSPORTATION PUBLIC INPUT MEETING JULY 21

BARABOO, WISCONSIN; July 2, 2014 -- The Aging & Disability Resource Center of Eagle Country/Sauk County (ADRC) will hold a public input meeting on Monday, July 21, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. in Room B24 of the Sauk County West Square Building, 505 Broadway in Baraboo.  The purpose of the meeting is to discuss proposed changes to the ADRC’s transportation program.

The ADRC coordinates multi-modal transportation services for Sauk County seniors and disabled adults.

In January 2014, the ADRC began an in-depth analysis of the effectiveness and cost-efficiency of its transportation program, which resulted in resuming the taxi subsidy program and one-day bus excursions after a five-year hiatus, increasing the per-mile reimbursement of volunteer driver escorts and the cost incurred by passengers, and increasing fares and adjusting routes of the ADRC’s inter-community public transit bus system.

After seven months of data analysis and passenger input, a redesign of the ADRC’s bus system is being proposed in order to improve service effectiveness and efficiency.

The mission of the ADRC is to empower and support older adults, adults with disabilities and their families by providing easily accessible, quality information and assistance in support of each individual’s choice for independence and enhanced quality of life.

Those persons unable to attend the meeting, but who would like to submit comments in advance may send them to: Keri Olson, Interim Director, Aging & Disability Resource Center, 505 Broadway, Baraboo, WI  53913, or kolson@co.sauk.wi.us by July 14, 2014.

For more information about the public input meeting, contact the ADRC at (608) 355-3289.
