Press Release:

Rural Safety Days Camp 2018

Spring is here and it is time for Sauk County Rural Safety Day Camp. The 25th annual Rural Safety Days will be held at the Sauk County Fairgrounds on Tuesday May 15th through Thursday May 17th.  This event is aimed at educating all Sauk County third graders. The children attend 8 stations that focus on safety issues they could encounter on any day. This year’s stations include: chemical/insect, electric/water, internet/bullying, gun, small/large animal, farm equipment, seat belt/ATV, and fire safety.

Rural Safety Days is funded by generous local businesses and individuals. It is organized by employees of local hospitals, fire and police departments and Sauk County. Sauk County departments that participate in Rural Safety Days include: Emergency Management, Public Health, Sheriff’s Department, and UW-Extension. The presenters are all local volunteers and include FFA members from Sauk County high schools.

We invite the media to stop by Rural Safety Days. Students and volunteers always have a great time. For more information, call the Sauk County Health Department at (608)355-3290.
