Criminal Arrest and Search Warrant

On March 4th, 2026, The Sauk County Sheriff’s Office arrested Aaron Gerike, age 45 of Baraboo and will be referring criminal charges to the Sauk County District Attorney’s Office.  The charges include terrorist threats, threats to law enforcement officers, possession of illegal firearms, stalking, threats to a judge, attempted first degree intentional homicide, and bail jumping.   

Shortly after his arrest, the Sauk County Emergency Response Team with the assistance of the Dane County Tactical Response Team served a search warrant at Gerike’s residence on Evergreen Lane, in the Township of Excelsior. Numerous items of evidence were seized from the residence by investigators and additional charges may be referred to the District Attorney’s Office. 

The Sauk County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the following agencies: The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives, The Federal Bureau of Investigation, The Dane County Sheriff’s Office, Baraboo Police Department, Wisconsin Dells Police Department, Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, Columbia County Sheriff's Office Emergency Response Team, and Reedsburg Ambulance.

The charges are merley an accusation of criminal conduct where probable cause existed for an arrest. The individual is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
