New Residence with Municipal Sanitary Permit Instructions

To apply for a land use permit to construct a new residence, which will be connected to a municipal sanitary, please follow the instructions below. Examples of properties in rural Baraboo that would follow this criteria is:

  • Glacier View Subdivision
  • Surrey Ridge,
  • Glacial Basin
  • Tranquility Subdivisions

Section 3 - Building Description

  2. Please be sure to describe your project completely, which may include a new home, attached or detached garage, deck, porches, sheds, etc.

  4. Size of structure and setback distances. Please be as specific as you can. This information shall be complete and correct prior to issuing your permit. Also note that as a condition of your permit approval, our office may require a setback survey to be completed for any new construction when any part of the structure is located within 10 feet of the road setback and/or within 10 feet of any setback within the shoreland zoning district and is due at the time the footrint for the structure is finished.

Section 4 - Plumbing Description

Because your new residence will be connected to the City's municipal sanitary infrastructure, you may simply write down "city sewer" in this section. You will have to provided documentation showing that you have contacted the City and they have provided you with a letter stating that the connection to their sewer is permitted.

Section 5 - Fire Sign

Please fill out this information as accurately as possible. This will avoid our office reassigning a fire number to correct an incorrect address, which would result in a change of address and renotifying all emergency personnel of the change. Please select the closest fire number on either side of the road, determine the distance in feet and assign the correct direction.
