AUTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF CONSERVATION, PLANNING, AND ZONING TO COMPLETE AND SUBMIT THE PERMISSION TO CONDUCT SURVEYS FOR NORTHERN NATURAL GAS AT THE SAUK COUNTY FARM

Background: Sauk County owns property located at S4555 County Rd CH, which is home to the Sauk County Farm.   The Conservation, Planning, and Zoning Department holds lease agreements as well as manages and maintains the County Farm.  Notification was provided by Northern Natural Gas, as the company will be investigating the feasibility of constructing approximately 26 miles of 12-inch diameter pipeline within Sauk County to facilitate natural gas service to such as Loganville, Plain, Reedsburg, and Spring Green.  Anticipated construction of the pipeline and delivery station is 2020.  In order to investigate potential routes, identify landowner and environmental impacts, design feasibility and project economics; surveys are necessary to support the planning phases of the project.  While the survey is conducted of a property, it does not necessarily mean that the project will be sited on the County Farm property.  Northern Natural Gas is requesting permission for survey work to be completed on the County Farm property to commence in 2018 and continue into 2019.  Northern Natural Gas has requested that Sauk County provide information regarding the property and permission to enter the property for the specified reasons.
