Sauk County Youth Conservation Days

Youth Conservation Days

The Land Resources and Environment (LRE) facilitates the Sauk County Youth Conservation Days. Sixth and seventh graders from throughout Sauk County participate in hands-on sessions in the great outdoors to help them learn about water quality, forestry, urban sprawl, soil science, food chains, and much more.  The goal is to make learning "real" by giving students the opportunity to participate in a variety of topics in a hands-on setting.

Throughout the year, the LRE Department is involved in other educational activities for both adults and youth. It is our hope that these educational events will help inspire a lifelong appreciation for conservation and encourage their involvement in the protection of our natural resources.
