Conservation Reserve Program (CRP) Informational Meeting

Join us to talk about the new opportunities with the Conservation Reserve Program that can help balance your farming operation: new programs, new rates.

Please join us at the Town Hall in La Valle on February 3rd at 6:00pm to discuss the way that CRP can benefit you and your farm.

General Sign Up 49 is currently underway and there are several Continuous CRP programs also available. With program rental rates that are competitive with current agricultural rental rates, this could be the perfect solution for fields you don’t want to farm anymore or those marginal yield areas. Enrollment into CRP increases soil health, water quality and wildlife benefits. The current Sauk County average Soil Rental Rate (SRR) is $134/ac.

Representation from Sauk County Planning and Zoning, Sauk County Farm Service Agency, Sauk County Natural Resources Conservation Service and Pheasants Forever will be present to provide guidance and answer questions. Program eligibility and requirements, application process, including determination of SRR, and program and landowner expectations will be discussed. You can also call FSA to schedule an appointment today with Lexie Meyer at 608-355-4420 x2.

Refreshments will be served. 6:00-7:30pm, Town Hall in La Valle, WI.
