Public Comment: none
Discussion re: composition/existence of CJCC subgroups
- Spoentgen notes that the sub-groups and working-groups all have to meet open meetings. Also talks about the possibility of the dissolution of the subcommittees of the CJCC. Outlined the possibility and potential benefits of removing the standing committees from CJCC.
- E. LaBroscian opens floor to potential objections, agreements, or suggestions.
- Greenwood notes that she would prefer to be called upon on an as-needed basis.
- R. LaBroscian believes that it would make the process less cumbersome. Can meet as needed.
- Rego – notes upcoming retirements of Dan Brattset and Cathy Warwick. Mentions somewhat lax participation in some groups.
- No vocal objections
Intros/Agency updates/Trends-Concerns:
- BPD – vacant detective position filled. Brian Voltz. New officer starting soon to fill that position – 13 years of LE experience from Poynette.
- DA’s Office – may be getting another ADA spot from the legislature – yet to be determined.
- CPS – up 25% in reports from 2019
- JDS – Working with DA’s Office to do a Diversion Supervision agreement
- Hope House – more services have been opened up (community meetings, transports, in-person client meetings; Meriter has been having gaps in SANE coverage)
DART Discussion:
- Not really any movement on this as of yet.
- Trying to coordinate going to the Chief’s meeting to give information for potential information provision for LAP implementation.
Updated on Child Advocacy Center:
- Greenwood looked at furniture potentially from BPD. Still looking for final options.
- Equipment costs have been delineated.
- Going to start working on MOU for stakeholders
- Potential name: Sauk Forensic Alliance
- Group seemingly agrees to name it this. Some discussion about whether this group should vote on that to formalize. Spoentgen mentions that it’s not really within our power, but he’s in support of the name.
- Greenwood to talk to Bratsett to get permission for naming.
- Not going to do an on-call pool of interviewers – gathering names of interviewers
Next Meeting: 8/18/21 @ 3P – both virtual and via Zoom
- Agenda items – follow-up from CJCC discussion of groups.
Adjourn – Motion by Rego – Second by Greenwood – unanimous vote – 3:43PM
Respectfully submitted,
Rick Spoentgen
