Members present:        Phil Wedekind, Andrea Lombard, Scott VonAsten, Cheryl Giese, Tom Geimer, Tom Kolb

Members Absent:         Becky Demars

Others Present:            Ed Geick, David Armstrong, Tim Stieve, Kathy Schauf, Shawna Bongard, Thomas Pinion, Todd Liebman, Marty Krueger, Dean Tom Pleger, Pamela Kohlmeyer, Mike Palm, Assistant Dean Tom Neal

 

Certification of compliance with the open meeting law.  Motion by Kolb, second by Lombard, to adopt the agenda. Motion carried.

 

Motion by Geimer, second by Kolb to approve the minutes of the prior meeting.  Motion carried.

 

Election of officers.

Motion by Lombard, second by Kolb, to nominate Phil Wedekind for Chair.  There were no further nominations.  Motion by Geimer , second by Lombard, to close nominations and cast an unanimous ballot for Phil Wedekind.  Motion carried.

 

Motion by Kolb, second by Lombard, to nominate Tom Geimer for Vice- Chair.  There were no additional nominations.  Motion by Kolb, second by Lombard, to close nominations and cast an unanimous ballot for Tom Geimer.   Motion carried.

 

Public Comment  None.

 

Communications  None.

 

Financial Report and Bills

Clarification was provided on funding sources for the signage.  Motion by Kolb, second by Lombard to pay the bills.  Motion carried.

 

Consideration of change in the Bylaws

By-laws were discussed. Petty cash language will be eliminated, changes in text will be made to ensure gender neutrality, and options for appointees to the Commission will be added.  Motion by Kolb, second by Geimer to adopt the by-laws as discussed and forward to the County Board and City Council for approval. Motion carried.

 

Facilities and Maintenance Report(s)

Armstrong gave update on project, clearing of trees from behind the campus, and working on relocating the utilities for the science project, Century Link will be sending a cost estimate.

 

Deans Report

Videos are online for each candidate.

 

Motion by Geimer, second by Kolb to adjourn.  Motion carried.
