MINUTES
UW –Baraboo/Sauk County Campus Commission – Executive Dining Room
Wednesday, February 12, 2014: 3:30 P.M.
Members Present: Wedekind, Kolb, Lombard, Von Asten, Giese, Geimer and DeMars
Members Absent:
Others Present: Pleger, Kohlmeyer, Schauf, Liebman, and Neal.
Chair Wedekind called the meeting to order at 3:30 P.M. and certified compliance with the Open Meetings Law.
MOTION (Kolb/Geimer) to approve the agenda. Motion carried unanimously.

Communications
Dean Pleger acknowledged his appreciation and noted he and Teresa will miss this university. The challenges that await him are somewhat similar to those when he faced when he began here. The top two being creating new marketing strategies and building enrollment.
He has submitted his resignation letter with an effective date of July 1. He will be actively working until June 1; at which time, he will be drawing on his vacation. He anticipates an appointment committee will possibly begin immediately to search and screen for top candidates through both a national search and local. It’s possible a search firm could be involved. The goal is to have someone identified by June 1. If later than that date, an interim Dean will be named.
Dean presented a summary of an email sent from Chancellor Cross regarding the $2.33 million budget reduction that UW Institutions and Colleges are facing and the importance to follow up and analyze each area of the campus thoroughly. Identified were $ 1.186 million in (central administration and institution-wide reductions or savings) and $ 1.144 in budget reduction allocation to campuses. UW- Baraboo/Sauk County’s budget reduction allocation has been identified as $ 64,477.
Consideration of the assignment of lease agreement from Bluffstone LLC to the Villas at Baraboo LLC.
Liebman provided the background on this change in assignment in the lease agreement. Bluffstone LLC creates another LLC that enters into the mortgage and title company. It is required we assign the lease to the Villas at Baraboo LLC which are owned and controlled by Bluffstone LLC.
MOTION (Lombard/Kolb) to award the contract to the Villas at Baraboo LLC. Motion carried unanimously.
MOTION (Kolb/Geimer) to adjourn and set the next regular meeting date for February 20, 2014. Motion carried unanimously and the meeting adjourned at 4:20 P.M.
