NOTICE OF COMMITTEE MEETING

 

COMMITTEE:  UW - Baraboo/Sauk County Campus Commission

 

DATE:   Thursday, August 29, 2013                                            TIME: 8:00 AM                                                  

               

PLACE:  UW - Baraboo/Sauk County Campus in the Rodems Room, 1006 Connie Road,

REASON FOR MEETING:  SPECIAL:   Residence Hall Vendor Presentations

 

ORDER OF BUSINESS:

 

  1. Call to order and certification of compliance with open meeting law.
  2. Approval of agenda.
  3. Public comment.
  4. Communications.
  5. Presentation of vendor proposals for Residence Hall. 
  1. CD Smith Construction, Plunkett/Raysich & Capstone On-Campus Management  (approximately 8:00 a.m.)
  2. Castle Place Development & Millennium Architects (approximately 9:00 a.m.)
  3. Bluffstone, LLC. (approximately 10:00 a.m.)
  1. Possible closed session pursuant to Wis. Stat. s.19.85(1)(e) deliberating or negotiating the       

purchasing of public properties, the investing of public funds, or conducting other specified

public business, whenever competitive or bargaining reasons require a closed session. 

(Discussion of presentations for Residence Hall.)

  1. Reconvene in open session immediately following the closed session.
  2. Consideration of a recommendation regarding private partner for construction of a Residence Hall at UW Baraboo / Sauk County.
  3. Set next date and time.
  4. Adjournment.

SPECIAL Meeting - August 29, 2013

 

Present:  Wedekind, Kolb, Geimer, Giese, DeMars, VonAsten, Lombard

Also Present:  Kohlmeyer, Armstrong, Schauf, Liebman, Geick, Stieve, Krueger, Pinion and others

Absent: 

 

Chairperson Wedekind called the meeting to order at 8:00 a.m. and certified compliance with the Open Meetings Law.

MOTION (Kolb/Geimer) to approve the agenda. Motion carried unanimously.

Public Comments None.

Communications  None.

Presentation of vendor proposals for Residence Hall:

Proposals were presented from  CD Smith Construction, Plunkett/Raysich & Capstone On-Campus Management; Castle Place Development & Millennium Architects and Bluffstone, LLC.

Each vendor was allowed a 30 minute presentation followed by 30 minutes for questions and answers.

Team members identified their goals, years of experience in residence hall construction and property management, current projects and their strategic plan for implementation and completion of this project.

 

Possible closed session pursuant to  Wis. Stat. s19.85 (1)(e) deliberating or negotiating the

the purchasing of public properties, the investing of public funds, or conducting other specified

public business, whenever competitive or bargaining reasons require a closed session. 

(Discussion of presentations for Residence Hall.)    MOTION (Kolb/VonAsten) to go into closed session. 

 

MOTION (Kolb/Lombard) to return to open session immediately following closed session.

 

MOTION (Wedekind/Kolb)  authorizing  Campus Commission to select Bluffstone, LLC  as the private partner in the construction of a residence hall at UW Baraboo/Sauk County.  ROLL CALL VOTE:  AYES: (6) Wedekind, Kolb, Giese, Geimer, DeMars, Lombard.  NAYS: (1) VonAsten.  Motion carried. 

 

MOTION (Lombard/VonAsten) to adjourn until September 19, 2013 at 8:00 A.M. for the regular meeting and a  special meeting before county board; date of which will be determined later.   Motion unanimously carried.
