Certification of compliance with the open meeting law. Motion by Kolb, second by Lombard, to adopt the agenda. Motion carried.
Election of officers.
Motion by Schauf, second by Kolb, to nominate Phil Wedekind for Chair. There were no further nominations. Motion by Geimer , second by Lombard, to close nominations and cast an unanimous ballot for Phil Wedekind. Motion carried.
Motion by Kolb, second by Lombard, to nominate Tom Geimer for Vice- Chair. There were no additional nominations. Motion by Schauf, second by Kolb, to close nominations and cast an unanimous ballot for Tom Geimer. Motion carried.
Motion by Lombard, second by Kolb to approve the minutes of the prior meeting. Motion carried.
Public Comment none
Communications Liebman updated that Commission on lien’s that have been received and filed in conjunction with the student housing. Liebman advised that the recommendation from his office is to deny. He has indicated that Bluffstone will seek a declaratory judgement to remove the City, County and University from the current contractual dispute.
Consideration of Science Facility Change Orders.
Details of change orders are included on the Proposal log. Motion by Schauf, second by Kolb to approve the change order log as approved to date, including 48 – 50, temporarily holding off on #48 due to the Campus waiting for the equipment approval. Motion carried.
Facilities and Maintenance Report(s) David Armstrong, will have carpet bids for the June meeting. Sidewalk lighting was also discussed. Discussed the possibility of re-numbering / re-signing the whole campus, due to the current numbers not being consistent. David will get a quote for the complete re-signing for the next meeting.
Financial Report and Bills Motion by Schauf, second by Kolb to pay the bills in the amount of $4,074.17; and current bills for the Science facility to date of $448,621.69. Motion carried.
Update on Student Housing- Lombard. Emergency Plan is now established, Lombard has copies upon request. The Campus Commission is requesting that T. Liebman draft a letter to Bluffstone requesting information on summer occupancy plans for the residence hall.
Consideration of a resolution in Support of Adequate State Funding For University of Wisconsin-Baraboo-Sauk County Campus. Motion by Lombard second by Schauf, approving a resolution in Support of Adequate State Funding For University of Wisconsin-Baraboo-Sauk County Campus. Motion carried.
Consideration of bids received for parking, sidewalk, curb and gutter and sidewalk replacement. Wedekind discussed the North side entrance, curb gutter, waiting on two quotes. Motion by Kolb second by Geimer to pay up to but not over $60,000 for this project. Carried.
Discussion and consideration of the implications of the State budget to the 13 two year college campuses.
Deans Report Tracy White, Dean. The Commencement Ceremony will be Sunday May17, 2015 in the gym. Crystal Ritzenthaler will be a special award recipient. There will be a live video stream of the Chancellors Conference immediately following this meeting. Current campus priorities: Manage budgetary cuts; address faculty compensation issues, increase the emphasis on the non-traditional two year students.
Next regular meeting date: June 18, 2015, 8:00 a.m.
