Certification of compliance with the open meeting law. Motion by Kolb, second by Geimer, to adopt the agenda. Motion carried. Motion by Geimer, second by Kolb to approve the minutes of the prior meeting. Motion carried.
Public Comment None.
Communications Update on issues surrounding Bluffstone and the Villas project as it pertained to potential lien’s being filed on the property.
Plan Design Change – The Villa’s
Kelly Young presented a request to change the design of the exterior of The Villa’s from a retaining wall to a vegetated slope. The commission requested additional information.
Financial Report and Bills Motion by Lombard, second by Kolb to pay the bills in the amount of $9,710.96. Motion carried. Motion by Lombard, second by VonAsten to approve the current bills for the Science facility to date. Motion carried.
Facilities and Maintenance Report(s) David Armstrong presented information on maintenance. The replacement of the recently vacated Maintenance Manager is being held open pending updates on overall effect of state budget on university functions. Library carpet is being replaced. FFE process with the system has begun.
Consideration of Science Facility Change Orders.
Motion by Kolb second by Geimer to go into closed session pursuant to Wis. Stat. 19.85 (1) (e) Deliberating or negotiating the purchasing of public properties, the investing of public funds, or conducting other specified public business, whenever competitive or bargaining reasons require a closed session.. Change order for winter costs and allowing Liebman, Pinion, Stieve, Armstrong, Geick, Palm and Bongard to remain. Roll call vote: AYE: Wedekind, Kolb, Geimber, Lombard, VonAsten, Giese, Schauf (7) NAY: (0) ABSENT: (0). Motion carried.
Motion by Schauf second by Kolb to reconvene in open session. Motion Carried
Motion by Wedekind, second by Von Asten to authorize $56,130 for the change order pertaining to winter costs. Motion carried.
Details of change orders are included on the Proposal log. Motion by Schauf, second by Kolb to approve the change order log as approved to date. Motion carried.
Update on Housing, Andrea Lombard reported on plans for providing housing during the summer months.
Deans Report Tracy White, Dean discussed public authority status and the potential impact of the state budget on operations. 61% of the students on campus are first generation, highlighting the benefit of two year campuses in providing access.
Next regular meeting date: March 19, 2015, 8:00 a.m.
