Call to order and certification of compliance with the open meeting law.  MOTION (Kolb/Lombard) to adopt the agenda.  Motion carried.

 

Adopt minutes of previous meetings of September 18 and October 9, 2014.  MOTION (Geimer/Kolb).  Motion carried.

 

Public Comment:  None.

 

Communications:  10/16/14 email; re:  Occupancy of the Villas & the Large Block retaining wall alternate.   Armstrong and Liebman provided recent information regarding the change order and payment status.  (email on file)

 

Facilities Planning and Maintenance Report & Financial report and approval of vouchers:

Kohlmeyer presented information on maintenance and invoices to be paid.

Giese presented the monthly financial report indicating a fund balance of $ 69,489.43, Capital Improvement balance of $ 26,052.41 and an YTD net balance of $ 38,329.47.  MOTION (Kolb/Von Asten) to approve bills for payment in the amount of $ 2,129.04.  Motion carried.

 

Consideration of the creation of a Construction Oversight Liaison for UW Science project.

Liebman advised that the county representative is Tim Stieve and according to the Commission’s by-laws; it is appropriate to have a representative from the UW Campus.   MOTION (Lombard/Kolb) to designate Phil Wedekind as this commission’s representative.   Motion carried.

 

Consideration of Science Facility change order requests.    Armstrong reported no additional change orders at this time for review.  It is anticipated a copy of the timeline and renovations with further development to be brought to this commission next month for discussion.

 

Dean’s Report:  Tracy White, Dean

Status and filling of faculty and staff positions 
Recruitment process/ & selection for new UW Chancellor

 

Next meeting date:  November 20, 2014; 8:00 am.   Chair Wedekind requests to add to next month’s agenda item to appoint Andrea Lombard to the New Student Housing Committee.

MOTION (Wedekind/Kolb) to adjourn.  Motion carried.
