- The meeting was called to order at 9:00 AM by Chair Ashford.

- Motion made by Tollaksen, second by Wiese to approve the agenda. Motion carried.

- Motion made by Huffaker, second by Tollaksen to approve the minutes of the regular meeting of February 25, 2010. Motion carried.

Communications
- Hwy 33 Scenic Road - Nagelkerk shared a new website: charley@scenicwisconsin.org
- Thank you letters for our continued support from “Honors Band Program” were communicated.
- Al Ringling invited our committee to use the Theater for our April or May meeting. The committee plans to meet at the Al Ringling Theatre for our May 27th meeting.
SAUK COUNTY UW EXTENSION
Monthly Report/Review and Approval of Vouchers (UW Extension)
A motion was made by Tollaksen, second by Huffaker to approve the vouchers for the month of February in the amount of $3,391.67. Motion carried.
Agent Monthly Reports
Danielle Varney, WNEP Coordinator reported on her 2011 planning process. It is important to collaborate with a cost share program since it is federally funded. Food Share eligible programs such as schools and food pantries are good educational opportunities as well.
Jenny Erickson, Community Resource Development Agent – Erickson described an example of her work with the local government (Emergency Medical Service Survey for Reedsburg/Baraboo). Her role in extension is to be neutral and research based for studies.
Erickson shared the UW College and UW-Extension Annual Report with Committee.
Experience Works
UW Extension is planning to utilize a worker from the Experience Works training program starting March 29. This is a federally funded program that helps people over age 55 and low income get experience to enhance their resume.
Amendment #1 to Extension Contracts/Acct # 133-PRJ21RH
Nagelkerk reported that the UW Extension contract was approved by WACEC and UW System legal counsel. Signatures of the committee members were obtained.
Alice in Dairyland Balance Discussion and Possible Action:
A motion was made by Tollaksen, second by Stehling to approve the spend down of the amount in principal until this fund is depleted. Motion carried.
ARTS & CULTURE
Monthly Report/Review and Approval of Vouchers
A motion was made by Tollaksen, second by Stehling to approve the vouchers for the month of February in the amount of $10,000. Motion carried.
Reports
Stehling will email committee members information about “Imagine” – Creative Art Ecology.
Judy Ashford attended the March Theater Guild meeting where she explained the UW Arts and Culture Grant process and application.
AHHP Grant Awardees Discussion and Possible Action
Minutes from the Arts and History & Humanities Grant evaluation panels were reviewed.
The following changes were made by the committee.
Arts Grant: Aldo Leopold Foundation - restored the amount to $3,300
History & Humanities Grant: Sauk County Historical Society was not funded and International Clown Hall of Fame was not funded.
A motion was made by Tollaksen, second by Stehling to award grants (per the attached document) in total of $44,605. Motion carried.
Post Mortem on Grants Application Process
Review and discussion on the grants application process by committee. Committee feels the process went well, but there is always room for improvement. The process should continue to promote art to the next generation.
Discussion and Possible Action on Funding for Sauk County Maps
Erickson reported an unexpected additional expense with GIS mapping for the Sauk County maps. A motion was made by Huffaker, second by Stehling to approve up to $600 to be used for this expense. Motion carried.
Consideration of Applications for Good Idea Grants
Lester Wiese requested two coroplast boards for Zion Lutheran “Stone” Church at a cost of $60 each, for a total of $120. A motion was made by Tollaksen, second by Huffaker to award the good idea grant in the amount of $120. Motion carried.
Consideration of Programs and Priorities
Program grading sheet will be available for future meetings during agent monthly reports.
