Call to Order

The meeting was called to order at 9:00 AM by Chair Ashford.

Certification of Open Meeting Notice

Requirements of the Open Meeting Law were met.

Approval of Agenda Amended

Motion made by Zowin, second by Wiese to approve the agenda. Motion carried.

Approval of Minutes of Last Meeting

Motion made by Zowin, second by Nobs to approve the minutes of the regular meeting of August 26, 2010. Motion carried.

Motion made by Wiese, second by Nobs to approve the minutes of the special meeting of August 27, 2010. Motion carried.

Communications

Correspondence was communicated by Erickson.

UW Baraboo Theatre Program

Lauren Love of the UW Baraboo Sauk County announced the Summerset Festival of the Arts which will be held July 28-31, 2011. She discussed the goals, venue and organizational structure of the festival and was open to feedback as they start to focus on planning and programming.

Monthly Report/Review and Approval of Vouchers

UW Extension: A motion was made by Stehling, second by Zowin to approve the vouchers for the month of August in the amount of $2,442.70. Motion carried.

Arts & Culture: A motion was made by Zowin, second by Stehling to approve the vouchers for the month of August in the amount of $1,300.00. Motion carried.

Extension Updates/Reports

Nagelkerk will be holding classes in the ETN Room in October. Money Smart Lunch – n – Learn classes to be held are: Facebook – The Basics, Buying a Computer, and 50 Ways to Save Money in 50 Minutes.

Agent Monthly Reports

Danielle Varney, WNEP Coordinator –Danielle reported on a poverty simulation program that took place in Sauk City this summer. WNEP Educator position applications are due September 30, 2010, with October 29 interviews.

Welcome New 4-H Youth Development Agent

Introduction of Jenni Walsh, who accepted the new 4-H Youth Development Agent position.

Action Item: Review of 2011 Budgets

(including programs/priorities/mandates/discretionary programs/service limitations, etc.

Arts & Culture/UW Extension: Budgets reviewed in detail. Much discussion on the funding of the Sauk County maps. Erickson will look into other possibilities to fund the map. No action taken.

Request to Attend (Required) Wisconsin Arts Board Meeting in Oneida

Ashford requested to attend a required meeting on October 26, 2010 in Oneida. A motion was made by Zowin, second by Nobs to approve Ashford’s attendance and expenditures to attend the Oneida meeting. Motion carried.

Upcoming Committee Meeting Dates of November & December

Committee agreed on the upcoming dates for the UW Extension Arts & Culture committee to be on Friday, November 19, 2010 and Thursday, December 23, 2010.

Consideration of Applications for Good Idea Grants

3. Joan McArthur – requested $500.00 for funding expanded edition of the color book . Further information was reviewed. A motion was made by Zowin, second by Nobs to deny the Good Idea Grant due to a profit being made on the sale of books. Motion carried.
