Call to Order
The meeting was called to order at 9:00 AM by Chair Ashford.
Certification of Open Meeting Notice
Requirements of the Open Meeting Law were met.
Approval of Agenda Amended
Motion made by Wiese, second by Nobs to approve the agenda. Motion carried.
Approval of Minutes of Last Meeting
Motion made by Nobs, second by Wiese to approve the minutes of the regular meeting of December 23, 2010. Motion carried.
Public Comment
None.
Communications
Ashford communicated that videotaping of this meeting is a possibility per Chairman Krueger.
If your committee's meeting is videotaped, it is important to remember that it is the statutory right of a person to video or audiotape a public meeting provided they do not interfere with the conduct of the meeting.
Review Budget and Approval of Vouchers
UW Extension: A motion was made by Wiese, second by Nobs to approve the vouchers for the month of December in the amount of $58,755.38. Motion carried.
-Budget : Erickson reviewed with committee.
Arts & Culture: A motion was made by Nobs, second by Wiese to approve the vouchers for the month of December in the amount of $636.59. Motion carried.
Sauk County Fair Board Representative
Fighting Bob Fest moving from Sauk County Fairgrounds to Dane County in 2011. Darrow reported on reasons the festival might have changed locations. Committee would like to keep the festival in Sauk County. Darrow will continue to keep committee updated.
Agents Annual Review (SIPR) with Dick Pederson, Southern District Director
-Introduction of Lori Baumgart, WNEP Educator who joined extension in November 2010.
2010 Year in Review -presentation was given by extension agents highlighting on accomplishments and impacts. Pederson states this is an opportunity to give honest feedback and perspective. A brief document of agent highlights was also distributed to committee members for reference.
A motion was made by Stehling, second by Wiese to approve a successful Extension Agent Annual Review (SIPR) for 2010 calendar year. Motion carried.
Discussion/Action regarding Authorization to Attend WACEC State Conference
The WACEC State Conference will be held in Madison at Monona Terrace. All supervisors are encouraged to attend. The most important day to attend is Tuesday, March 29 if you are only able to attend one day. A motion was made by Ashford, second by Wiese to approve Supervisors Nobs, Stehling, Wiese, Zowin and Ashford be authorized to attend the WACEC State Conference for March 28, 2011. Motion carried.
Discussion/Action regarding Amendment to Sauk County Extension Contract, 133-PRJ21RH
Extension contract review and signing. A motion was made by Ashford, second by Stehling to approve contract 133-PRJ21RH. Motion carried.
Updates/Reports
UW Extension:
-UW Extension Sauk County Resource Advocacy Network: Erickson and Nagelkerk reported. Dean Klemme will be communicating with Ashford to keep the committee updated on the state and federal budget effects on extension.
-Alice in Dairyland Scholarship Update: Selected recipient provided proof of second semester registration and transcript and will be receiving $500 scholarship.
Arts & Culture:
-Review Final Report AHHP Grants: Postponed until February meeting.
-Update on 2011 Arts, Humanities & Historic Preservation Grant Process: Erickson reviewed application process and dates the panels will meet.
Consideration of Applications for Good Idea Grants
1. Sauk Prairie Area Historical Society – Requested $500.00 to undergo an extensive renovation and preparation to bring home the Bradford Bison for our long –term exhibit and other exhibits such as Fabulous Puppets and Christmas through the Family Table. A motion was made by Wiese, second by Nobs to approve the Good Idea Grant for $500.00 to the Sauk Prairie Area Historical Society. Motion carried.
