Call to Order

            The meeting was called to order at 9:00 AM by Chair Ashford.

Certification of Open Meeting Notice

            Requirements of the Open Meeting Law were met.

Approval of Agenda

            Motion made by Nobs, second by Stehling to approve the agenda.  Motion carried.

Approval of Minutes of Last Meeting

Motion made by Nobs, second by Stehling to approve the minutes of the regular meeting of August 25, 2011.  Motion carried.

Public Comment

None

Communications

-Ashford announced the Wormfarm Institute received another $100,000 grant from ArtPlace

-Nagelkerk communicated Notice of Entry in the National Register and/or State Register of Historic Places – Island Woolen Company Office Building, Baraboo WI

Review Budget and Approval of Vouchers

UW Extension:  Erickson reported budget is on track.  Motion was made by Stehling, second by Nobs to approve the vouchers for the month of in the amount of $4,324.09.  Motion carried.

Arts & Culture:  Erickson reviewed budget.  A motion was made by Krueger, second by Nobs  to approve the vouchers for the month of August in the amount of $1,193.14.  Motion carried.

ACTION ITEM:  Final Review of 2012 Extension and Arts & Culture Budgets: 

Erickson presented Budget Form I and discussed the completion date column.  Extension programs are service oriented and sometimes have no end dates.  Krueger mentioned that a base program of a department may be on-going and have no end date.  Motion made by Krueger, second by Stehling to approve the amended 2012 Extension and Arts & Culture budgets and forward them onto the finance committee for consideration.  Motion carried.

Major Grants Application: 

Ashford  plans to review the major grant application and submit  recommended changes at next months meeting.  

Updates/Reports

UW Extension: 

-District Reformulation – Nagelkerk updated committee on the new districts UW extension has announced effective 2013

-WACEC – District 2 information was shared by Nagelkerk

-4-H and Agriculture interviews (3 - 4-H and  2 – Ag) will be held on

Monday, October 17 and will include committee members as well as a 4-H Sr. Leader representative

-WCA -  Zick gave update on set-up, volunteers and take-down of displays at conference, Sept. 25-27 in Wisconsin Dells

Arts & Culture:   None.

Agents Monthly Reports

Nagelkerk  - Family Living Educator reported on Census 2010 – A look at the demography and geography of Wisconsin; Dan Verhoff good contact for census information.

Jenny Erickson – CNRED Educator  reviewed the Baraboo Retail Market Analysis which she recently completed

Consideration of Applications for Good Idea Grants

1.  Prairie du Sac Public Library – Requested $98.60 for a reading program-Go Big Read.   Motion made by Krueger, second by Stehling to approve the Good Idea Grant for $98.60 to Prairie du Sac Public Library.   Motion carried.

Upcoming Meeting – October 27, 2011 at 9:00 AM – ETN Room 3^rd Floor – West Sq. Blding

            -Changes to meeting dates due to holidays

November meeting date is scheduled for  Tuesday, November 29^th at 9:00am

                        December meeting date is scheduled for Thursday, December 22^nd at 9:00am
