Call to Order
The meeting was called to order at 9:00 AM by Chair Ashford.
Certification of Open Meeting Notice
Requirements of the Open Meeting Law were met.
Approval of Agenda Amended
Motion made by Stehling, second by Wiese to approve the agenda. Motion carried.
Approval of Minutes of Last Meeting
Motion made by Wiese, second by Stehling to approve the minutes of the regular meeting of June 24, 2010. Motion carried.
Public Comment
George Koepp reported on the Sauk County Fair.
Communications
Correspondence was communicated.
SAUK COUNTY UW EXTENSION
Monthly Report/Review and Approval of Vouchers (UW Extension)
A motion was made by Wiese, second by Nobs to approve the vouchers for the month of June in the amount of $2,392.05. Motion carried.
Erickson reported that committee should note the extension budget will be over budget due to a large sick leave payout.
Sauk County Fair Wrap-up
Miskowiak-Larsen reported that reflection on the fair is important and educational for both staff and exhibitors. Extension is continuing to communicate with the fair board to improve.
Furlough Provisions Continue
Nagelkerk reported furlough days will continue indefinitely for our agents; 4 mandated and 4 flexible. Mandated dates: November 26, 2010, Jan. 3, 2011, March 21, 2011, May 23, 2011.
Agent Monthly Reports
Phyllis Both, Horticulturist –Erickson reported that master gardeners are working with community gardens and Huber inmates at several sites in Sauk County and having amazing success.
Angela Zeihen, WNEP Educator – Demonstrated techniques used with children to educate them on nutrition and handwashing. This is a cost share program and federally funded. Zeihen reported she will be resigning in July to take another position.
Screening/Interview Dates for 4-H Agent Position
Committee members will conduct final interviews for the 4-H Agent on Friday August 27 at 9:00AM.
WACEC District II Summer Meeting – Tuesday, August 24, 2010
Committee members were invited to attend in Darlington, WI. Benefit is to see what other counties are working on in extension. Stehling and Wiese plan to attend with Nagelkerk and will report back to committee at August meeting.
ARTS & CULTURE
Monthly Report/Review and Approval of Vouchers
A motion was made by Stehling, second by Wiese to approve the vouchers for the month of May in the amount of $2,835.00. Motion carried.

Consideration of Applications for Good Idea Grants
- Sauk Prairie Conservation Alliance - requested $500.00 for support of a community outreach event at Moely Prairie. A motion was made by Wiese, second by Stehling to approve the Good Idea Grant in the amount of $500.00 to SP Conservation Alliance. Motion carried.
- International Clown Hall of Fame – requested $500.00 to fund Greg DeSanto to form a clown troupe. A motion was made by Stehling, second by Wiese to approve the Good Idea Grant in the amount of $500.00 to the Clown Hall of Fame. Motion carried.
- Teresa Pleger on behalf of the Sauk County Humane Society – requested $500.00 for funding of a new program providing education. A motion was made by Nobs, second by Wiese to deny the Good Idea Grant in the amount of $500.00 due to guidelines not being met. Motion carried.
- Sauk County Assoc. for Home & Community Education (HCE) – requested $337.50 for laminating the Sauk Co. HCE Heritage Cookbook cover. A motion was made by Nobs, second by Wiese to approve the Good Idea Grant in the amount of $337.50 to HCE. Motion carried.
