Call to Order
The meeting was called to order at 9:00 AM by Chair Ashford.
Certification of Open Meeting Notice
Requirements of the Open Meeting Law were met.
Approval of Agenda
Motion made by Nobs, second by Stehling to approve the agenda. Motion carried.
Approval of Minutes of Last Meeting
Motion made by Stehling, second by Nobs to approve the minutes of the regular meeting of August 4, 2011. Motion carried.

Communications
Al Anderson is featured in Midwest Living, Rest Haven Motel has been entered in the National Register and/or State Register of Historic Places, correspondence from Alice in Dairyland Scholarship recipient and Taliesin Centennial Gala invite.
Review Budget and Approval of Vouchers
UW Extension: Erickson reported budget is on track. Motion was made by Stehling, second by Nobs to approve the vouchers for the month of July in the amount of $2,057.87. Motion carried.
Arts & Culture: Erickson reviewed budget. A motion was made by Stehling, second by Nobs to approve the vouchers for the month of July in the amount of $11,749.00. Motion carried.
ACTION ITEM: Approve Revised 2012 Extension Budget: Erickson made committee aware of change made to 2012 budget since administrative review; MIS charges were adjusted. No action necessary.
Wormfarm Institute Update: Neuwirth and Salinas gave an update and progress on Fermentation Fest. This event is October 7-16, 2011 and was made possible in part through grants from the National Endowment of the Arts and Sauk County UW Extension Arts & Culture Committee.
ACTION ITEM: Sauk County Ag Society Annual Funding Request: Koepp requested amount of $20,000 funding remain in the 2012 Arts & Culture proposed budget. Motion made by Nobs, second by Stehling to approve $20,000 funding remain in the 2012 budget. Motion carried.
ACTION ITEM: Sauk County Historical Society Annual Funding Request: Presentation done by Wolters on Sauk County Historical Society. Wolters requested amount of $10,000.00 funding remain in the 2012 Arts & Culture proposed budget. Motion made by Stehling, second by Nobs to approve $10,000 funding remain in the 2012 budget. Motion carried.
ACTION ITEM: Request to attend/expenses relating to the 2011 WACEC District 2 Meeting in Lancaster. Motion made by Nobs, second by Stehling to approve expenses and attendance of Supervisors Stehling and Wiese to attend the WACEC District 2 Meeting in Lancanster on October 6, 2011. Motion carried.
ACTION ITEM: Erickson request 20% leave of absence and consideration of back fill position:
Erickson, CNRED agent requested a 20% leave of absence/back fill to spend more time at thome with her young son. Motion made by Nobs, second by Stehling to approve the 20% leave of absence and back fill of her position effective October 1, 2011. Motion carried.
Updates/Reports
UW Extension: Nagelkerk gave update on national grant UW Extension received focusing on young children of incarcerated parents. She will work with the Sauk County jail on this study and will continue to update the committee. Nagelkerk plans to present to the Sauk County Board in the near future.
An update on vacant positions in UW Extension were also discussed. 4-H Youth Agent and Agricultural Agent positions will be posted early next week.
Arts & Culture: None.
Agents Monthly Reports
Phyllis Both - Horticulture Educator reported on her summer projects and upcoming Master Gardener training. A community garden will be located in Reedsburg next year.
Jenny Erickson – CNRED Educator reported on SCIL (Sauk County Institute of Leadership) and her involvement with this successful program.
Consideration of Applications for Good Idea Grants
1. Sauk Prairie Music Association – Requested $500 for Sauk Prairie High School Music activities. Motion made by Stehling, second by Nobs to approve the Good Idea Grant for $500 to SPMA. Motion carried.
