She also informed the committee that Quincy Kissack has been hired as the Summer AmeriCorps VISTA to work in the Extension Office this summer; she will be starting June 24, 2014.
Arts & Culture: Judy Ashford read two letters, one from Dick Goddard of the Lake States Railway Historical Society informing the committee that due to some recent changes within their organization, they will be declining the AHHP grant that they were awarded for 2014. The other letter was from Dr. Byron Long, formerly of the LSRHA, informing the committee of his disassociation with LSRHA.
Report of Badger History Group Building Situation
Judy Ashford has had conversations with officers of the Badger History Group regarding the status of remaining in their current location at BAAP since recent information has been reported about the possibility of the electrical service being suspended. These conversations have revealed that the situation is not as dire as was reported in the paper and should not have bearing on the status of the AHHP grant that was awarded to the organization for archival supplies. Currently the BHG museum is open to BHG members and archivists, but is not open to the general public because it is not ADA compliant which has become the issue since the DNR took ownership of the building.
