Call to Order

The meeting was called to order at 9:00 AM by Chair Ashford.

Certification of Open Meeting Notice

Requirements of the Open Meeting Law were met.

Approval of Agenda Amended

Motion made by Wiese, second by Stehling to approve the agenda. Motion carried.

Approval of Minutes of Last Meeting

Motion made by Wiese, second by Stehling to approve the minutes of the regular meeting of May 27, 2010. Motion carried.

Public Comment

Introduction of Kathy Gosewehr, Executive Director of the Sauk County Historical Society

Communications

Circus World correspondence was communicated.

SAUK COUNTY UW EXTENSION

Monthly Report/Review and Approval of Vouchers (UW Extension)

A motion was made by Stehling, second by Nobs to approve the vouchers for the month of May in the amount of $1,533.81. Motion carried.

Overview of UW Extension Budget

Erickson reviewed 2011 UW Extension budget to update members of our committee.

Agent Monthly Reports

Sandy Miskowiak-Larsen, 4-H Youth Dev. Advisor – Introduction of new summer intern, Danielle Schroth. Sauk County Fair is coming soon , July 6-11. Updates and education boards will be used to educate youth and fair go-ers on animal welfare.

Demographics Update: Erickson and Miskowiak attended a recent training on 2010 census data and how this information can be used ie. characteristics of a community. Erickson will share the Sauk County data with Kathy Schauf.

Jenny Erickson, CNRED Agent – Reported on her recent study for the Pink Lady Rail Transit Commission. Committee suggested a map showing current rail usage.

Discussion/Possible Action of 2010 Agent Contracts

A motion was made by Zowin, second by Stehling to approve 2010 agent contracts. Motion carried.

Discussion/Possible Action Agent Retention Funding

A motion was made by Wiese, second by Stehling to support agents to apply for possible retention funding. Motion carried.

Discussion of Sauk County Program Priorities

Committee members were asked to suggest any ideas or concerns they feel we are facing as a county. Staff will use feedback for planning /programming.

New Goals and Objectives/Budget Form I

Committee members reviewed.

ARTS & CULTURE

Monthly Report/Review and Approval of Vouchers

A motion was made by Wiese, second by Zowin to approve the vouchers for the month of May in the amount of $1,753.00. Motion carried.

Reports

Ashford attended H.H. Bennett Studio exhibit.

Overview of 2011Arts and Culture Budget:

Erickson reviewed budget to update committee members.

Discussion/Possible Action-Requesting Funds for Sauk County Regional Website

Erickson reported on a website which will promote Sauk County and is driven through the Chamber’s website. A motion was made by Zowin, second by Stehling to approve a $500.00 special programs expenditure. Motion carried.

Discussion/Possible Action – WI Arts Board Re-granting Contract

Reviewed. No action.

Consideration of Applications for Good Idea Grants

1. Paul Schonfeld- requested $500.00 for historic images website for Reedsburg Public Library . A motion was made by Stehling, second by Zowin to approve the Good Idea Grant in the amount of $500.00 to Paul Schonfeld. Motion carried.
2. Sauk Prairie Area Historical Society – requested $500.00 to fund creation of video documentary . A motion was made by Wiese, second by Zowin to approve the Good Idea Grant in the amount of $500.00 to the SP Area Historical Society. Motion carried.
3. Baraboo High School/Marlys Greenhalgh – requested $500.00 for Baraboo High School Souper Bowl Events. A motion was made by Zowin, second by Nobs to approve the Good Idea Grant in the amount of $500.00 to the Baraboo High School. Motion carried.
4. Sauk Prairie Recreation Dept. – requested $450.00 for a free kids festival during Polka on the Riverway. A motion was made by Wiese, second by Stehling to approve the Good Idea Grant in the amount of $450.00 to the Sauk Prairie Recreation Dept. Motion carried.
