Communications
o Thank you from Lake States Railway Historical Assn. for grant support.
Steve Pate, MIS Budget Line Item Clarification
Pate explained how budget and charge-back for computers, equipment and copiers for departments is calculated. Executive and Legislative Committee requested in 2010 that purchasing and maintenance of copiers be centralized by MIS. UWEX copier is unique, in that it is a larger copier than other departments and maintenance expenses were more than projected.
Review 2012 Budget and Approval of Vouchers
UW Extension: Budget reviewed; agent contracts are included on this invoice. Motion was made by Smoke, second by Dietz to approve the vouchers for the month of September in the amount of $64,632.68. Motion carried.

Youth In Governance
Malsatzki explained that several counties have implemented a youth in governance program. Supervisor Wenzel would like to know if there is interest in possibly implementing in Sauk County. Committee members will discuss with Wenzel and would like to know more before investing time into planning; suggested looking at what other counties have done. UWEX only becomes involved if the county board decides to implement this program and sets priorities and goals.
Consideration of Applications for Good Idea Grants
June Schumacher requested $500 to attend Rural Arts Management (RAM) Institute. Felt that it did not illustrate benefits to the community or county; committee would like to see documentation of how the education would be applied to our community. Applicant has great accomplishments and may reapply for the grant. Motion made by Detter, second by Smoke to deny funding $500 to June Schumacher. Motion carried.
Sauk Prairie Music Association requested $500 to help fund the musical “Oklahoma.” Motion made by Smoke, second by Dietz to approve funding $500 to the Sauk Prairie Music Assn. Motion carried.
